Golden triangle tour

I am escorting American & Australian groups for last six years on North India tour. 

Recently I was on Golden triangle tour of India with a group of 32 American nationals. There were few scholars too who were travelling on this India tour with the group. During many dinners and lunches  we had deep discussion on Maharajahs of India and privy purse council. What we found was really interesting and new. 



In 1857, there were over 565 princely states in India. Each prince was rich enough to run the economy of Great Britain. But still a small business enterprise like East India company was able to establish a strong English empire in India.

What was the reason that such rich and mighty Indian Kings couldn't defeat Small fleet of Britain Army ? 

Lets go deep into the lifestyle of these Maharajahs of India. 

Not every Maharajah but maximum had a lavish lifestyle. These maharajahs had wealth and they were fond of wine and women. The parties of these Maharajahs used to start around 5 pm in the evening and ended at 4 am in the next day morning.               

Then Maharajah will retire, whole day he will sleep and will be ready for another party next day. These parties were full of wine and women. Wine was imported from France. There were french and European cooks to prepare cuisine. These Maharajah were fond of Spanish  and American beauty.  Music bands were also participated from Europe. 

Aphrodisiac drugs were taken to enhance the night's pleasure, one such injection costed Maharajah rs 50,000 in 20th century.  

Maharajah  had no time for statecraft. Administration was left to ministers. And because Maharajahs never paid attention on administration so these ministers became corrupt. Commoners were unaware of these Maharajahs lifestyle behind the large and lofty walls of their palaces. 
Common Indian's life never got changed after 10th century, they were living in rags and mud houses.  

When Maharajah got bore of these night parties then he will leave palace for long shooting holidays. Mahrajah's harem will also travel with him. Now a days whatever the wild centuries we have in India earlier these were the shooting and hunting grounds of Maharajah's of India. Now Indian government has converted all these 537 wild life centuries into tourism products. Many famous one are Ranthambore Tiger reserve, Jim Corbet National park etc.

Earlier due to caste system the duty of protect the nation was given to the King(shatriya). He will take care of nation like his children. Crown was given to the son of King hereditary. But these King forgot their responsibility and instead of fighting against British, they choose a lavish life and handed over the administration to the British viceroys. 

They accepted large and handsome yearly salaries from British crown. British started making policies which exploited Indian economy like anything and during 1760 to 1840 the industrial revolution of England was backed by Indian money. 

Now my concern is that in every school of India, we teach that it was British who exploited us but no one teaches Indian children about the carelessness and selfish lifestyle of these Maharajah of India who shrugged of their responsibilities and left Indian population in front of English crown to get exploited.  

Today still these Maharajah are ruling India by using political power. Still they ask for vote on the basis of their caste, creed, community and  religion. Due to illiteracy 50 % Indian population do not know about the past of this ruling class. 

40% middle class do not vote because they are in race of materialism and wants to join upper class at any cost, this race has converted into a class of India into selfish class which has no morals and understanding of duties. They always talk about rights.  

 Upper class is always interested in creating large business enterprises by bribing politicians (New Maharajah of India) and they fund political campaigns and parties to get the favor.  


Maximum number of Maharajah of India did not fight against British, they simply accepted large salaries and let the English exploit India. 

Still situation has not changed. Rich are getting richer and poor are getting poorer. 

One of my American group also discussed the above topic during our Same day Agra tour. They were also shocked to know that such a large nation like India was ruled for 200 years by very few number of British.
