TAJMAHAL – No 1 choice of the world travelers


It is still number one choice of foreign travelers.  Although Tajmahal is no more in the list of Seven Wonders of the World but this monument has special place in the heart of world travelers. American, European, English travelers still love to see Tajmahal first when they travel to India. Recent report of India tourism and travelling management ensures this information through their survey. Even on my yogameditationtours India yoga tour, they seem most excited when I announce that tomorrow we will visit Tajmahal. The story of Tajmahal is so fascinating that everyone wants to see it and its beauty mesmerizes the foreign traveler.

This tourism team of government of India did survey in 5 cities of India at 40 monuments out of 115 monuments of these cities. They took two years to make this report. They found that in  2 years (2015-2016) 40 million people visited these monuments and 71 % were foreigners.  

This report included questions like how many visitors are visiting, why are they visiting, how much information they have about monument, behavior of people at monument, infrastructure of area around monument.

On my yogameditationtours India yoga tour I include these entire monuments in the day sight scene. This India tour is  well balanced mix of culture, monuments, nourishment, movement and yoga.

Current BjP Government is not interested in promoting Tajmahal anymore. They are promoting pilgrim sites like Ayodhya – birth place of Lord Ram, Mathura – The birth place of Krishna, Varanasi – The city established by Lord Shiva. There logic is that Tajmahal needs no publicity anymore.  Other heritage of India must be highlighted to bring more tourists to India.
